New Brighton

New Brighton is an enchanting Minneapolis-St. Paul suburban city located around beautiful Long Lake.

The city calls itself "young at heart" even though it has a century-old history. It is situated in Ramsey County, and is located north of the "Twins," closer to Minneapolis but also not far from to St. Paul. The population was almost 21,500 at the 2010 census.

This family-oriented community represents all that is good about middle America. Nearly 64% of the residences are owner-occupied, and the population is middle-aged, with the vast majority between the ages of 18 and 62. Family households outnumber non-family households 5653 to 3596. And, nearly ? of the housing stock dates back from the 60s and 70s.

The median household income in the New Brighton MN real estate market is just over $60,000, slightly above the state average, but about 13% higher than the national average.

When comparing the housing market of New Brighton to others, you’ll find that the median home price is $223,500, making a home in this small city 15% more expensive than the rest of Minnesota and about 23% higher than elsewhere in the country.

If you’re looking to rent, however, you’ll notice that rentals here are comparable to Minnesota averages.

Median sales price for homes in New Brighton was up 4.4% between October 2015 and January 2016. The market is tight, with number of homes for sale averaging between 30 and 40 in recent months. There is some new construction, but it probably should not be termed a building boom.

Among the modern city's most attractive features, for anyone looking for a home convenient to the Twin Cities, are its low crime rate and its fine school district.

It also boasts top-rate amenities for residents, including an efficient public transportation system, nearby lakes and numerous parks, and proximity to Interstate Loop 694 and I-35W.
