Located just northwest of Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Brooklyn Park is the area’s second largest suburb and the sixth largest city in the state.

Although Brooklyn Park is just 15 miles from downtown Minneapolis, and a little more than 20 miles from St. Paul, there are plans to bring the light rail transit (LTR) system and connect the northwest suburbs with Minneapolis.

Dubbed the Metro Blue Line extension, the project is slated to start in 2017 and hopes to carry 27,000 riders daily by 2030.
